The latest and some pics

Okay instead of getting better at the blog thing I think I am getting worse. As always lots has been going on. I had Ivan's 30th birthday bash and it was a huge success. Our friends and family are such a fun group so the whole army theme really turned out great. Everyone got really creative including myself. I couldn't find anything with a camouflage print on it so I made my shirt and a shirt for my cousin. Watch out Martha Stewart. ; ) From what Ivan remembers he said he had lots of fun..dork. I love him so much, old and all. haa ha Hey I got a couple more years to tease him. No but seriously, I wanted him to have a fun birthday party with all of his close friends and family of course...because he deserves to have all of the people that love and adore him almost as much as I do around him to celebrate. I love you babe and I wish you many more years so we can grow old together forever. xoxo

Last week was Ethan's first day of school. Labor day weekend was fun but come Monday it was an emotional day for both Ivan and myself. The thought of our baby going to Kindergarten was a rude awakening that our baby really is getting older. I love him so much and it's so hard to "let go" (just a LITTLE) and give him the space he needs to create that independence. sigh.. I cried a lot on Monday and while helping him pick out his outfit he noticed I was crying, but I didn't want him to know I was said so I just played it off and said I yawned. He was so happy and excited the last thing I needed to do was put that sadness in him. So we got up Tuesday morning ate breakfast and took him to his first day of school. He looked so handsome! So we meet his teacher stood for about a half hour and we gave him kisses and left. The 3 1/2 hours took forever to pass for us..it felt like days and I missed him so much. So we finally went back to pick him up and just observed him as he ate his lunch. Oh and can you believe that a kid tried to take his money while in line!! Luckily Momma taught him well, and he told the kid something (don't know what cause we were just observing) and the kid stepped back into line and didn't do it again. After lunch he was released and Jacob and Daddy spent the rest of the day with him. I had important mtgs so I had to return to work but it was a fun, emotional day for me. My baby is a Kindergartner!!

ahhhhh

Okay, lots going on..which is why I haven't been the greatest blogger. This month started off so busy birthday after birthday...and now this weekend is Ivan's 30th birthday! He is a big time Call of Duty (video game) guy so I thought... what better than a COD party. So I am going to transform my backyard into warfare. haa haa Should be lots of fun. So keeping up with the Dubon tradition it will be a dress up party...fun pictures to share after this weekend. Everything will be themed (armyish) including signature drinks, I can't wait. Oh, and I am going to make him his cake...wish me luck. You all know I can bake and do some pretty neat cupcakes..but this is a cake that looks like a convoy...like I said, wish me luck.

Jacob and Ethan at Vanessa's house for her bday.

We started celebrating Ivan's 30th on Sunday with a family dinner to Benihana's. It was both Ethan and Jacobs first time and they both really enjoyed it. Ethan enjoyed the entertainment while Jacob enjoyed the food. I tell you this boy eats more than E.

Okay, as I type Ethan is trying to watch a movie and Jacob is "annoying him".. = ( How sad....I guess that's what having siblings is all about, but I know he wouldn't want it any other way. Especially because he thinks I should have another..but oh no, not yet. We have a family cruise planned for Feb..woohoo and I can't be prego. I really want to enjoy it with my babies and my Ivan..plus you know how I roll, I got the whole fambam going too. ha ha Plus you guys know how I get..I am a walking vomit machine for the first 5mnths of being prego. So no. BUT...if we do decide to have more it will need to be before/by the time I am 30. Which is like 9yrs from now..ha ha

JACOB- He is everywhere..he is even trying to walk!!!! He gets up with no assistance and steps and falls. What is going on, he is only 8mnths. I was hoping he would be a baby longer and not grow up as fast as E did. However, it looks like he is following in his brothers footsteps..literally. He gives kisses, waves bye and did I mention he can eat..lol I think I already told you all the words he says but if not they are Momma, Dada, baba (bottle), and Auntie. I am trying hard to get him to say E...hopefully soon because I know it will make Ethan so very happy.

ETHAN- Just got over a fever that lasted for 2 days..but thank God he is better. I can't stand seeing him sick, it hurts!! On a happier note: He is so ready for school, has his outfits and tons of shoes ready for school and of course the educational stuff backpack, school supplies. ; ) I am very confident that he will do good, he is such a smart boy and he is very, very social. Hopefully he can balance the two. His first day is on Sept. 8th...I can't believe my baby is going to start Kinder..can someone tell me where the time went? Oh, and this boy can dance and is so not shy to bust a move in front of strangers. Maybe the next Jabbawockeez?? haa haa

Okay, I gotta go....Jacob is getting into everything. ; )

Brother love..more like a headlock if you ask me.. = )

Jacob and Ethan

My Jacob, bubba bear is going through a really tough time right now. He is already going to be cutting his 2nd tooth. This one is really kicking that lil cottage cheese butt of his. I feel so bad, it just hurts my heart to see him act so sensitive. From the start he has been so good, he doesn't ever cry so for him to be cranky, whiney, and sensitive all at the same time is a huge sign that he truly doesn't feel good. It seems as if the teething pills, teethers, and tylenol are not working on this one. I am sad that he is getting another tooth because it just means he is getting older, yet at the same time I want it to hurry up and break through so he is not in pain anymore. We were swimming at the Carter's (neighbors) about 3hrs ago and that really tired him out which is good because he is out like a light. I just hope he gets a good nights sleep. A couple times this week he will wake up at midnight crying...I hope that's not the case today. My poor bubba bear, Momma loves you and I am so sorry I can't take all the pain away.
As for my Ethan, he is outside right now with Ivan and they are both out there talking to the neighbors and hanging out as if it were a weekend. I know it's a bit late, but they are totally bonding. I just peeked outside and seen them hanging out. ..way cute. I think Ethan will be up later than normal today being he took a very late nap. It's all good Auntie Lauren is here to watch him..right Auntie!

Catching up....

So my computer was out of order for a minute but thank God my husband is a geek. haa ha Of course as always he managed to make it perfect again, while still keeping my pics safe. We have an external drive, however I had lots that I hadn't transferred over. whew!

Let me bring you up to speed: Last Wednesday, July 22nd was my Grandma's 70th birthday (Dad's mom) and my God Daughters 5th bday (love you Mariyah). Let me just tell you that she is amazing and I could only hope to be as beautiful, outgoing, energetic, loving, crazy as her. ; ) We had a lil' surprise gathering for her...kept it small being we had already celebrated in Laughlin. She was very happy to see us all there and I hope it was as special to her as it was for me to be there. I love you Gma.

Last Friday, July 24th was my Mommy's 45th bday, and her & Dad's 28th anniversary. I love you guys and I wish you many more years of happiness together. We played it low key being we were all exhausted from all of the festivities. My Mom's mom came over and made some authentic Mexican food...Chile rellenos, beans, rice and even rice pudding for dessert. yummy!

Saturday we chilled at home. So there is one thing most of you don't know about me....I'm a stripper haa ha just kidding. I am a big dork and I love Rock Band. I am an okay singer, but when playing I get so into it....maybe one day when me and my sis dress up like we say we are we will take video of us playing in character. ha I love it because lots can play and it is totally a great way to bring family and friends together for a night of fun. My Ethan is most def a rock star. He takes after his momma.

Sunday was my Mariyah's 5th bday party. It was a pool party so it made the hot weather not feel bad at all. It was great we had fun and it ended with all the adults getting tossed in the pool with their clothes. Jacob, you rock..you are the reason I didn't get thrown in. haa ha

"Breaking News"

So my Boys were with my MOM and Dad all day in Victorville. Like literally all day. I dropped them off before work and when I got off they were still not back, so I told my parents to bring them home since its on their way. It was nice for the first 3hrs..I got to chill with Ivan, clean, wash clothes, cook dinner, shower, watch TV...and then it got sad. Ivan could tell I was antsy. I would jump up at any "sign" of someone possibly getting there. Goodness 9pm and still nothing...9:30pm....nothing?!?!?! Okay, I love a little alone time...but I wasn't prepared for them to possibly be staying the night away from me. Then to my surprise I hear my mom (who can be a bit loud...love you mom), she gave me great news.... Jacob got his first tooth. Right when they left Jacob woke up, which made me happy even though it was late. I was just glad to share a little bit of that milestone day with him. Congratulations Baby Jacob, momma loves you...just don't bite me. ; ) Wow, one loses a tooth and the other one gets a tooth!

Laughlin - July trip

120 degree weather, what more could you ask for...ha So we got into Laughlin about 9:30pm on Thursday. Meet up with everyone (not quite all 62 were there yet) in the breezeway and just hung out for a bit. Five minutes later, 1min after I told E to stop running he did a face plant into the ground. Seriously, why my baby?!? Not that I would want any other kid getting hurt but why is it always mine?! Needless to say when he got up he had blood coming out of his mouth. It wasn't a lot so I didn't panic. I took a look around his face then inside his mouth and to my surprise HE LOST A TOOTH! I then took him back to the room to get cleaned up and had him gargle with salt water. Not even an hour there and already an accident (sigh). I love my baby, I just wish there were less or no accidents. As a Mom these little things are very hard on the heart...can I get an amen!?!? So, Ivan wasn't there when it happened so I had to call him and tell him...great! Luckily he was more calm then me and the whole time we were there everyone kept telling him he forgot to put something on..meaning his tooth. LOL So I had the privilege of explaining the whole "Tooth Fairy" story. About a million questions later he was like "Oh, Mommy I get it...Jesus tells the tooth fairy when I lose my teeth and then she comes and gives me money!" It was totally not what I said, but I just said "Exactly!" = )
Friday morning we got up at the crack of dawn and headed out to the lake...we were there for about 6hrs, came back had some good grub and crashed. Saturday we headed back out to the lake around 7am and stood there for 11hrs....I know that's a long time. However, it's so relaxing out there and it is hot but just as long as your in the water it's awesome! Jen and I made a cool shade float thing to relax in....it was awesome because we were in the water yet still in the shade being we had baby Jacob. I think the motion of the little waves really helped him nap. So that night we were supposed to go out (just the adults) however it didn't happen, we or should I say I was exhausted. I know, I am a party pooper...sorry girls. Sunday my BF's and their family's left and we stayed with most of my family...swam in the pool and just vegged out the entire day. Our plans were to leave that night but we didn't end up leaving until Monday morning. Oh, and Sunday night E placed his tooth under his pillow. When he woke up the first thing he did was check under his pillow for the money. Then he told me "Mom, the tooth fairy left me $5..but I think she was supposed to leave another $5!"...kids! It was an awesome trip, but we sure did miss our home. I will post pics tomorrow.

Fun in the sun....

Had to post this...obviously we had no idea E was in this type of pose. I guess I should get used to it. BOYS!My bf Karla, Danny and 2 of her kids. (Angelique, see what you missed)

Our second set of kids to grow up together....

Jacob and baby Aaron hanging out in the yard after a dip in the pool.

Yes, this is Ethan!!!! Can someone get my heart out of my tummy...sigh.

Look at those big lips, wait with Jacob everything is big...haa ha
This was totally unplanned, 1st because we were at my neighbors without my neighbor... Did I mention they are so cool, not because of the pool but seriously I am blessed with awesome neighbors. 2nd Karla was trying to ditch us to drive to egypt to swim. I told you I would put her on check Danny...just kidding Kar, you know I love you, don't hurt me. haa ha 3rd, if it was planned Jen and Abe would be with us.. However, it was a great day...a great cool off indeed. Thanks Owen!!!

Facebook / Seperation anxiety

Gurrr, so I am trying to upload pics on FB and get up to speed with the rest of the world. However, it's not letting me do what I want it to. I am very good with the computer but I have zero patience when it comes to it not doing what it's suppose to. I think they might be having issues with uploading pics. Just when I think I am going to be "cool" and make my page interesting and more personalized the crap won't let me. So I closed it, and I am over it for today. So here I am....

So my chunkers (Jacob) has been going through this seperation anxiety. It started on Sunday, I went to put him to bed knowing he would knock-out being we were swimming all day. I went to bed and 2min later I hear "momma, mama momma" (who could ignore that) so I get up and try to put him back to bed and hes not going for it. Now let me take you back into time: Jacob has been sleeping through the night since 2 1/2 mnths, and he went from the craddle to the crib with no problem. There are times where I want him to sleep in my bed (not a good idea, being I have E sneaking in at wee hours)..but he never goes for it. However, on Sunday he just wanted to be with me...he would start falling asleep and then reach over to touch or grab my face. I guess making sure I was still there. After him being asleep for a half hour I put him in the crib and he was out. However, it was late 11:30 late... Not saying that I mind, especially because lots of moms have 1yr olds that still don't sleep through the night. I will get over the sleep, it just hurt hearing my Sister & brother say he was crying for me for about 45min before I got home from work on Mon... = ( My poor baby. So Monday night it was the same thing, and when I had to drop him off I was scared he would be crying for me again. The thought alone is heartbreaking. However, he made it through the day happy as ever. Today he was out by 8:30 which is his normal bedtime. I am not sure how long this will last or if it's done, but I have hopes that it's over...and if anything I am hoping he just didn't feel well. I love knowing that he misses me, who wouldn't...it's just knowing I can't be there that makes it hard.

Pictures of the week

Here are a few pics I wanted to share with you all:

Let's just say Jacob most def screams for ice cream! Needless to say he finished the entire cone...

Splish splash they were taking a bath...

Brooke "Boo's" 2nd birthday party this weekend at John's Incredible Pizza.

E and Miley enjoying all the games.

Jacob with his Uncle Ken.

Bad, bad hair day! He even scared himself...(the look on his face) lol

Independence Day

So this year we decided to have 4th of July at our house. Not only was it awesome to have our family and friends there but a true blessing to be able to host the event at our home. It was block party style so we had the jumper, kids swimming, music, games and everyone firing up the grills. The fireworks were spectacular and Jacob just stared with amazement. Those big beautiful eyes seemed a lot bigger that night...lol E was loving it, that lil guppy was in the pool all day so about 15min before the "firework show" ended he was passed out on the grass with Jacob. Again, it was truly an awesome day and I love that almost all of my fam & friends were there (thank you).

When the day first started off we all had matching shirts...the boys in white and us in blue. However, that didn't last long at all... = ( Oh and as you can see E dressed his self.

E and his cousins Sonny and Isacc.

Game Time

So Ethan had his first game last week and boy was it crazy. You got 4-6yr olds playing together on a team and it equals craziness. The games are so much fun that you are literally on your feet the entire game. It's so funny because Ivan left the game horsed because he was yelling so much. (not in a mean way) It's just loud and there are lots of teams playing at once on different courts, so lots of cheering going on. Whew, these games are exhausting. The crazy thing is they play for an hour...so the kids are pooped by the time the game is over. Ethan likes it but he gets frustrated after a while of not being able to get the ball or getting the ball taken away. Okay the funniest thing: This week he had a game and he didn't nap prior (big mistake)! So he was tired, thirsty, hungry..all of the above. Then he was out on the court and he started itching his tummy and he came and told me and my mom he was itchy. So my Mom tells him, "Its okay E, I know your itchy because your allergic to basketball". LOL He so didn't catch it, but to us it was hilarious.

Here is the huddle prior to game time.... = ) I don't have lots of pics, more video than anthing being it was hard to take pictures behind a fence. Once they move the games back into the gym I will.

Jacob ready to cheer for his big brother.
